2009, which i spent the first few moments of it....

Playing DW6 Special Cao Pi's story mode stage 4. I rock \m/
aka, DW6 specially for the ps2

Review of the game?

Since it was originally meant for the ps3, putting on the ps2 strained the ps2's system a tad. The game would lag at times and cut scene movies take longer to return to the gameplay.

I was really looking forward to the new system. But higher hope can also be turned into bigger disappointment. Charge attack became the "Ranbu" attack, substituting the charge's triangle button function. So, attacking is only restricted to the square button. It's very much similar to how one would normally play when you barely learned the game controls, you press square non-stop or until your thumb becomes tired. But there's more!

When one starts out from scratch, the "Ranbu" charge is only limited to 1 hit. Good thing is it's a guard crusher, and a pretty strong one to boot. As one levels up, skill points earned can be used to gradually power up your character's unique skill map until the entire map is filled up. Skills include an infinite "Ranbu" chain where the "Ranbu" charge hits up to 4, along with it is a longer normal attack move set.

Sounds complicated? It is at the beginning, just as how every DW or SW or MO series is until one actually plays the game.

Onwards! The storyline is kinda screwed up. Characters that are supposed to die don't, except for Guan Yu. Sun Ce can fight at Chi Bi?! Zhao Yun fights at Wu Zhang Yuan in the place of Jiang Wei... D8

Another thing is the new terrain, with the new mountain slopes, rivers, ladders, towers, yada yada yada. The map is almost as good as nothing. There's almost nothing known as a straight route anymore. You either have to climb a mountain by routing around it, cross valleys, bridges, rivers, climb towers, you name it.

Character specifics.
I'm like a third through completing the game so i can't comment too much. Except... I prefer the old fan wielding Sima Yi than his... spider silk gloves. I can't see where he's aiming. Zhuge Liang is no better with him slapping enemies with the feather fan >_>
Cao Pi raced up to my favorite list with his new moveset that's SO much faster than the one in the previous installment. I'm wanna unlock Lui Bei, the AI moves so fast D:

Lastly...

JIANG WEI! COME BACK!
